Remote Control Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Remote Control application. By downloading, purchasing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement or use the app with authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

1. The Service

Remote Control discovers and controls compatible TVs and infrared gateways on the same local network. You must own, administer, or have permission to control every device and network you use with the app. The app does not promise cloud-based, internet-wide, or remote-away-from-home access.

2. Free Features and Remote Control Pro

Core local-network TV control and the first room and device are available without a subscription. Remote Control Pro may unlock multiple rooms, unlimited devices, infrared learning, custom remote layouts, and encrypted transfer features. Available features may change as the app evolves, and some features require compatible hardware, software, or network conditions.

3. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Remote Control Pro is offered through monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscription plans. Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them through Apple before the end of the current subscription period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, and renewal is charged according to the terms shown by Apple.

The price that applies to your purchase is the localized price shown in the App Store purchase confirmation, including any applicable taxes or currency conversion. Promotional offers, introductory pricing, and Family Sharing availability may depend on your region, account, eligibility, and App Store configuration.

4. Managing, Cancelling, and Restoring Purchases

You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period, and access remains available until that period ends. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore eligible purchases associated with your Apple Account. Refund requests are handled by Apple and remain subject to Apple's policies and applicable law.

5. Compatibility and Network Responsibility

Device discovery and commands rely on manufacturers' local-network protocols. Compatibility can vary by brand, model, firmware, network configuration, region, and command. We do not guarantee that every television, infrared gateway, feature, or command will be supported or remain available. You are responsible for your device setup, network security, electricity, internet service, and third-party equipment.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Control devices or networks without the owner's permission;
• Use the app to disrupt, damage, overload, or interfere with any device, service, or network;
• Circumvent security, access controls, purchase validation, or technical restrictions;
• Reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
• Use the app for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity.

7. Third-Party Products and Trademarks

Remote Control may interoperate with third-party brands and device protocols. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Compatibility references do not imply sponsorship or endorsement. Your use of Apple services, compatible equipment, and third-party networks may also be governed by their own terms.

8. Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app to improve reliability, security, compatibility, or legal compliance. We will provide any notice required by applicable law. Subscription changes do not remove rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties that may legally be excluded. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, device incompatibility, network failure, or unauthorized device access. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may restrict access if you materially violate these Terms or if required for security or legal compliance. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

11. Privacy and Apple Terms

Our Remote Control Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information. For an app licensed through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard EULA also applies. If these Terms conflict with mandatory App Store terms or applicable law, those controlling terms prevail.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app, subscription offering, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
